Made up of some of the River Region's most accomplished performers, The Night Caps bring together decades of professional experience and a shared passion for great music. Bandleader Mark Barrett, founder of the popular group Basic Element, reimagined the band in 2021, creating an ensemble known for its sophisticated sound, dynamic performances, and outstanding musicianship.

Joining Barrett are longtime collaborator and pianist Sharon Ducote, acclaimed bassist Corey Martin, flamenco and classical guitarist Brian Brantley, and drummer Joe Brewton. Together, these veteran musicians have performed throughout the Southeast, including an appearance opening for Chicago at Montgomery Performing Arts Centre.

The Night Caps deliver an eclectic mix of R&B, blues, jazz, bossa nova, Americana, and roots rock, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Van Morrison, Antônio Carlos Jobim, JJ Cale, John Prine, and The Mavericks.
